Julie Sifert, Director of Children's Ministries

Julie is a native of the Binghamton area, and loves being surrounded by the mountains. All of her pre-college education was in Catholic parochial schools, which helped to begin her religious journey at a young age. She went on to earn a secondary teaching degree at SUNY Cortland. Julie attended Binghamton University for her Masters in Special Education (Grades K through 12), and her continuing education is supported by literature and on-line small groups consisting of other religious teachers.  

Julie and her husband Robin -- along with their two children, Joshua and Nicholas -- joined Christ The King in 2006; Julie was hired as Director of Children's Ministries in 2008. Her enthusiasm, her skills and her obvious love for children have been on display ever since.

More important than her hobbies of gardening, cars, camping and music, Julie is a soccer coach, Odyssey of the Mind coach and a volunteer in her sons' classrooms. One of the things Julie likes best about Christ The King is the opportunity to expand her faith in a comfortable, challenging atmosphere. An Alpha graduate, Julie found that the course gave her a chance to learn more about Christianity and about how personal the love of God truly is. She currently participates in the Wednesday morning Bible study. Experiences like these have deepened her faith and have given her an opportunity to explore herself as a constantly growing Christian.
