Director of Youth Ministries, Angie Roux
Angie Roux, our full-time Director of Youth Ministries, grew up in Watertown NY and lived for several years in New England, where she met her husband, Ray. After moving to Binghamton in 1994, Angie earned a BA and MA in Sociology from Binghamton University and also taught courses there. She and Ray became part of the CTK fellowship in the fall of 2002 when their son Logan was almost 2.
Angie is a fiber artist who enjoys quilting, hand-dyeing fabric, attending quilt retreats with friends, and spending time in her studio. She has donated many fundraiser quilts over the years and has done projects for her son's school and Lourdes Hospital.
Being involved and volunteering are very important to Angie. She has participated in, and highly recommends, Alpha, the Marriage Course, and Gifts Discovery. Opportunities to work with CTK youth began when she joined the team of Jr. High Sunday School teachers in 2007. She never anticipated taking a full-time youth ministry position, but looking back, Angie sees that each youth activity that first year was one more step in a plan that God was laying out for her.
What does Angie like best about Christ the King? "The welcoming nature of our fellowship and the importance we place on doing service for each other, within our community, and beyond our national borders. Service has kept me connected to my church family and provided multiple opportunities to show Christ's love to others, and thus receive it back."
